On November 27, the First National Forum entitled “Business and Universities”, which is organized by the Center for CSR Development, will take place in the Rus Hotel (4, Hospitalna str., Kyiv). The forum will consider such topics as conducting effective partnerships between business and universities, balancing the expectations of employers and universities about educating students, teaching entrepreneurship as a course and others. Recent sectorial aspects of such partnerships between businesses and universities will be considered in special sessions during the forum. MTS Ukraine has installed 57 boxes in its offices and official stores in Kyiv and Kyiv region to collect used batteries and accumulators. By the end of 2013 such boxes will be installed in all MTS stores, universities and partner companies. On Nov. 1, 2013, McDonald’s Ukraine will kick off its annual “Happy Day” charity campaign to raise money for the purchase of medical equipment for children’s hospitals in 23 Ukrainian cities. “Happy Day” has already collected more than UAH 14 million and transferred that money to help more than 50 children’s hospitals. In October, employees of Kraft Foods Ukraine visited children from boarding schools and kindergarten from Sumy and Kyiv oblasts and together planted fruit trees. They also organized a special picnic for the children on the theme of healthy eating. Continue reading
In October, 55 city and village schools from eight oblasts of Ukraine joined the “Energy Efficient Schools” project being implemented by DTEK. As part of the project all middle-year school children (classes 6-8) will study lessons related to energy efficiency. Continue reading

The document summarizes the rules of conduct for employees at all levels in their interaction with colleagues, customers, partners, investors and other stakeholders. On October 8, East Europe Foundation initiated and conducted CSR Committee Meeting at the European Business Association. The main aim of the meeting, which was attended by approximately 30 representatives of different groups of stakeholders (including business, community and education) was to present and discuss a Strategy to support the development of corporate social responsibility in Ukraine. The National Bank of Ukraine is looking for partners for joint conducting of National Financial Literacy Week and International Savings Day. The main aims of these activities are to raise awareness about the family budget and the main principles of financial accounting, to promote savings and personal investments, and to inform Ukrainians about different banking services that can be used to make their personal plans and ideas take shape. Last week, Ukrainian mobile communications company Kyivstar and its partners released their new mobile application “I See Well,” which is now available for free downloading. The application contains various exercises for the eyes (“eye gymnastics”) for adults and children. It was developed by specialists from the Fialtov Institute of the Tissue Therapy of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and Kyivstar as part of a social program entitled “Mobile Health.” This application also enables users to test their eyes for symptoms of many common eye diseases.
